SACRAMENTO — An early Wednesday evening marijuana raid at a Sacramento County shop began with additional than 20 individuals detained, lined up and questioned.
The Trap was advertised as a clothes shop but cannabis enforcement officers told FOX40 it was a front exactly where pot vendors sold and sampled their goods devoid of licenses.
“They do get the incorrect notion about the factors that go on right here,” stated Mario Chavez, who was detained.
Chavez and other people described what goes on inside The Trap like a farmers marketplace or a tradeshow for health-related marijuana in diverse types. Chavez claimed most individuals believed it was all legit.
“Modern-day hippies, peace, adore and happiness, so why are (they) harassing us? Sitting outdoors for 3 hours,” Chavez stated.
“I do not know about the legal elements. I just come right here for the reason that it was low cost,” stated a consumer.
The consumer claimed he went to the Florin Road shop as soon as a week for health-related cannabis to treat his tuberculosis. It is a single of the only areas he stated sells marijuana goods he can afford.
Cannabis enforcement officers told FOX40 the warrant for the raid came from the Division of Customer Affairs, which regulates legal cannabis company statewide. A spokesperson for the DCA did not return calls created by FOX40.
An officer stated no a single at The Trap had a license to operate or sell health-related marijuana.
All the revenue and pot confiscated will be seized by law enforcement.
Officers did not say how lots of individuals have been cited in the raid.
